This tag is embedded in the plastic head of the car key and functions by receiving and transmitting electronic codes. These codes can be fixed, encrypted, or rolling, depending on the car’s make, model, and year.
When you turn a transponder key in the ignition, the vehicle sends an electric pulse to the key, momentarily powering the transponder. The transponder then sends a digital signal back to an antenna in the car’s ignition. If this signal matches the code stored in the car’s immobilizer, the car will start. If the code doesn’t match, the car might crank but won’t continue running.
